Study Objectives

Summary

The worldwide emerging of the Covid-19 has brought different outcomes in all aspects of life including mental health issues such as anxiety due to panic, loss of job, being quarantine etc. Hope is a motive that enables people to cope within the crisis conditions.‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌This ‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌study ‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌was ‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌conducted ‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌to ‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌identify ‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌the ‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌psychological ‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌consequence ‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌of ‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌Covid-19 ‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌outbreak ‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌in ‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌primary ‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌phase ‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌among ‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌community ‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌dwellers ‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌in ‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌Shahroud, ‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌Iran.

This cross-sectional study was conducted in 2020 with the participation of 3565 subjects in Shahroud, Iran. To prevent the spread of disease while maximum access to participant’s data, we applied the digital data collection method.

Eligible participants were selected by convenient sampling method. An invitation message was distributed through virtual social media. The invitation message included an informed consent form and an address link to the online questionnaire page. The data collection process was conducted during a couple of weeks (February 21, to March 7, 2020).

To collect the data, a demographic questionnaire plus COVID-19 knowledge checklist were used. Moreover, Snyder’s hope questionnaire and Spitzer's Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD-7) were applied to measure subjects’ hope and Anxiety level.
