Summary:
In Iran, since the second week of March 2020, the activities of many employees have been limited. Many factories, companies, universities, shops, workshops and schools were closed. Many workers and employees became unemployed. This disrupted the country's economic system. Since April 13, 2020, many companies have been allowed to resume their activities with caution, but some occupations that are classified as vulnerable, such as: barbershops, restaurants, ceremony and conferences halls, playgrounds, accommodations, hotels, swimming pools, saunas, massage salons, clubs, cinemas, concerts, gaming nets, and tea houses are still closed. Since most people are single-job, there is a lot of financial pressure on the livelihoods of these people and their families. Now, if these people or their families become ill or die during this time, especially due to Covid-19, the situation will get worse. At a time when economic activity is declining, government need to support vulnerable Individuals and businesses and provide facilities and support packages to revive the economy for all sectors of the country. One of the important strategies in this regard is to provide a support package designed based on harmful indicators such as job risk, support needs, costs of each job, annual income, income deciles and the possibility of telecommuting. Given that such a solution that meets the needs of all segments during the Corona Pandemic has not yet been implemented in Iran, this study will be conducted with the aim of presenting a government financial support package for vulnerable jobs during the Covid-19 pandemic. This study will be performed on a population of 15 to 64 years old (productive population) of Iranians living in the country who are selected based on a three-step random sampling. Finally, a policy summary will be provided for better decision-making by policymakers.
How the results will be used: The results of this study provide necessary information on equitable distribution: comprehensive support for people with vulnerable occupations in the Corona time to policymakers and health planners, the government, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, parliament and other government agencies and contributes to informed policy-making evidence.
