About
Following 10 years successful experience in conduction of two famous cohort studies (ShECS and SSCECS), the Ophthalmic Epidemiology Research Center was established in 2019 in order to recognize the causes and risk factors for eye diseases and visual impairments.
Ophthalmic Epidemiology Research Center is under authority and support of Shahroud University of Medical Sciences and also under support of Noor Eye Hospital. By these two important sponsors, the center has both academic and professional activities.
We collaborate with other research centers and institutes inside and outsides of Iran to develop more accurate and new evidences regarding eye diseases prevention and treatment.
We continue to perform high quality research projects that investigate new ways to prevent and treat visual impairments and lower their burden. We also work hard to help the public learn about vision problems and how to keep their eyes healthy.
