University President Honors Health Frontline Workers on World Health Day

On Tuesday, 7 April 2026, coinciding with World Health Day, Dr. Mohammad‑Hassan Emamian highlighted the importance of science, synergy, and collective participation in strengthening the health system, referring to the 2026 global theme: “Together for Health: Standing with Science.”

He stated that relying on up‑to‑date knowledge and making effective use of scientific and operational capacities paves the way for empowering the health system. The public health sector—through its focus on maternal and child care, services for middle‑aged and elderly populations, student health, and the prevention of communicable and non‑communicable diseases—holds a fundamental position in ensuring community wellbeing.

Expressing appreciation for the tireless efforts of public health personnel, the University President noted that a significant share of the health system’s achievements stems from the dedication, compassion, and sense of responsibility demonstrated by frontline workers, including community health workers, public health experts, physicians, dentists, health monitors, and managers involved in prevention and care.

Referring to the country’s challenging circumstances, he emphasized that the continuous and selfless service of health professionals—even under difficult conditions—plays a vital role in protecting lives and reducing harm, reflecting a profound sense of human responsibility.

Dr. Emamian described the clinical care sector as a complement to public health, adding that the provision of timely, equitable, high‑quality treatment services; the development of healthcare infrastructure; and, in essence, the full implementation of the Family Physician Program are key elements in improving community health.

He concluded by underscoring the importance of an integrated and evidence‑based approach to health and medical care. An effective health system, he said, can only be achieved through simultaneously strengthening prevention and treatment, enhancing health literacy, and ensuring active public participation. This approach, he noted, is essential to building a healthy, dynamic, and resilient society.
