Shahroud Launches Family Physician and Referral System to Enhance Healthcare Access

Shahroud University of Medical Sciences has announced the official launch of the Family Physician and Referral System, effective August 1, 2026. Shahroud is among 21 cities selected to participate in the second phase of this national healthcare initiative.

According to Dr. Mohammad Hassan Emamian, President of the University, the program aims to strengthen primary healthcare, improve access to medical services, and promote equitable healthcare delivery. Under the new system, residents will receive coordinated care through family physicians, with referrals to specialist and hospital services when needed.

The initiative reflects the university's commitment to enhancing the quality, accessibility, and efficiency of healthcare services for the community.
