Message from the President of Shahroud University of Medical Sciences on National Doctors’ Day

The first day of Shahrivar, marking the birth anniversary of the renowned Iranian physician, philosopher, and scholar Avicenna (Abu Ali Sina), is a reminder of the profound value of knowledge, wisdom, and service in the field of medicine. It is also an opportunity to honor physicians who, through their expertise, dedication, and selfless commitment, strive to protect and promote the health and well-being of society. Medicine is far more than a profession; it is a noble human vocation and a profound commitment to safeguarding human life and dignity. In times of illness and uncertainty, physicians serve as a source of support for patients and their families and as a symbol of hope and reassurance. Fulfilling this vital role requires not only knowledge and clinical expertise, but also patience, empathy, and a strong sense of responsibility. Across all areas of healthcare, including recent emergencies and crises, the medical community in Iran has consistently demonstrated remarkable dedication, selflessness, and compassion. Physicians at Shahroud University of Medical Sciences have likewise played a vital role in providing healthcare services to the people of Shahroud and Miami through their responsible presence and tireless efforts in hospitals, healthcare facilities, and comprehensive health service centers. Today, physicians are not only responsible for diagnosing and treating diseases; they also play a key and strategic role in disease prevention, promoting health literacy, guiding patients throughout their care journey, and fostering hope and reassurance within society. Undoubtedly, a significant part of the achievements of the healthcare system is the result of the knowledge, commitment, and dedication of these invaluable professionals. On this occasion, I pay tribute to the memory of the martyrs of the medical community and healthcare workers who sacrificed their lives in the service of the people and in defense of public health. I extend my sincere congratulations on National Doctors’ Day to all distinguished, dedicated, and hardworking physicians of Shahroud University of Medical Sciences. I pray to Almighty God for the continued health, success, and fulfillment of all esteemed physicians in their noble mission of serving the people and advancing the health and well-being of society.
