Medical Imaging Technology(B.Sc.)

The Bachelor of Medical Imaging Technology is a four-year undergraduate program offered by the School of Allied Medical Sciences at Shahroud University of Medical Sciences. The program is designed to educate competent and highly skilled medical imaging professionals who play a vital role in the diagnosis, treatment planning, and monitoring of a wide range of diseases through the use of advanced diagnostic imaging technologies.

The curriculum integrates fundamental medical sciences with comprehensive theoretical and practical training in medical imaging. Students study anatomy, physiology, pathology, radiation physics, radiation biology, radiographic positioning, imaging instrumentation, radiation protection, image processing, quality assurance, and patient care. Throughout the program, emphasis is placed on developing technical competence, critical thinking, ethical practice, and effective communication skills to ensure the safe and accurate performance of diagnostic imaging procedures.

Clinical education constitutes a major component of the program. Under the supervision of experienced faculty members and clinical instructors, students complete extensive clinical rotations in the University's affiliated teaching hospitals and medical imaging departments. They gain practical experience in conventional radiography, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), fluoroscopy, mammography, and other diagnostic imaging modalities while learning to operate advanced imaging equipment and provide high-quality patient-centered care.

Graduates of the program are equipped with the knowledge and practical skills required to work as Medical Imaging Technologists in hospitals, specialized diagnostic imaging centers, outpatient clinics, emergency departments, and other healthcare facilities. They are also prepared to pursue postgraduate education and research in medical imaging, radiological sciences, and related healthcare disciplines.
