The exam period is considered a stressful time for students and pupils, which is accompanied by many challenges for families. Following some tips in modifying lifestyle can provide better conditions for passing this period and greater success.

 Azizi, an expert in Iranian medicine at the Health Office of Shahrood University of Medical Sciences, said in a conversation with the university's public relations management that getting enough sleep at night leads to better mental performance and stronger memory, so adjusting sleep hours can play an important role in increasing students' concentration and reducing stress.

He added: "Instead of going to bed late and waking up late, it is better to set the bedtime from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., because according to studies, quality sleep is often achieved during these hours of the night, which leads to morning cheerfulness and lack of boredom during the day."

He called stress and anxiety control one of the main steps to success and stated: "Many students do not read exam questions carefully due to anxiety, or do not remember the correct answer due to decreased concentration."

He also mentioned the lack of a regular curriculum, not reviewing lessons, family pressure to get a higher score, insomnia, and unhealthy eating as causes of stress and decreased concentration during exam sessions.

Azizi stated: Regular planning in studying lessons, practicing breathing exercises, avoiding excessive consumption of caffeine and stimulants, getting enough sleep, consuming apple tea and tea with apple, rose water, catnip, and honey are effective for greater success in exams.

He pointed out that people who suffer from irritability, anxiety, and lack of concentration should not overeat spicy foods.

 Consuming hot foods in moderation, such as: various types of stews such as almond stew, almond fesanjan, apple and plum stew, betel and plum stew, and almond milk, is suitable for this group.

 Among the nuts mentioned in Iranian medicine as brain boosters is almonds. Therefore, it is recommended to use almonds, raisins, hazelnuts, chickpeas, and raisins in moderation to increase memory and improve brain function.

Note: For those who experience low blood sugar while studying or have a tendency to eat sweets, it is recommended to consume raisins, currants, almond halva, yellow jelly, and almond paste.
