History

The International Affairs Office (IAO) was founded in 2018, as the international branch of Shahroud University of Medical Sciences. All International Students who are permitted to SHMU will study as a part of its International office. IAO is committed to provide its best for all students while expecting these students to offer their best to the people and communities that they live in. The doors of the SHMU are open to international students coming from all cultures and backgrounds. As we all know, teaching the medical sciences can have implications on people’s cultural values and faith-based beliefs. To respect all values and beliefs, the curriculum, lectures, as well as the student housing centers are adapted for a culturally diverse student and faculty population. International students are important to us. Upon their graduation, they will return to their countries and will start to practice medicine or teach. In order to prepare them, we have designed a curriculum that is similar to curriculums in other universities around the world. The courses that we offer and references that we use are comparable to those of other countries. The quality of the education will not be only enriched by the credentials and teaching of all faculty members, but also by students’ feedback, reviews, suggestions, and constructive criticism.
