Shahroud University of Medical Sciences Ranked for the First Time in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings (2026)

This achievement reflects the collective efforts of the university’s faculty members, researchers, staff, and students, with strong support from the Vice-Chancellor for Research and Technology. The ranking significantly enhances the university’s international reputation and contributes to its strategic goals of attracting international students, expanding health tourism initiatives, and advancing toward the vision of a fourth-generation university—an institution that integrates education, research, innovation, and entrepreneurship to create social and economic impact.

Within Semnan Province, three other universities have also been ranked by THE: Semnan University (1001–1200), Shahroud University of Technology (1201–1500), and Damghan University (above 1510).

Overall, only 90 Iranian universities—including those affiliated with the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Science, and Islamic Azad University—have been ranked in this year’s THE list, with Shahroud University of Medical Sciences placed 38th among them.
