General Medicine Program (MD) for International Students
The School of Medicine at Shahroud University of Medical Sciences (SHMU) is committed to educating the next generation of physicians through its Doctor of Medicine (MD) program, designed specifically for international students and aligned with the highest global standards of medical education.
This program focuses exclusively on General Medicine, combining scientific rigor with a humanistic approach to produce skilled, ethical, and compassionate medical professionals.
Program Highlights
Program Focus: A comprehensive curriculum integrating foundational biomedical sciences, advanced pathophysiology, and extensive clinical training—encompassing clerkship and internship—within SHMU’s affiliated teaching hospitals.
Duration: The program typically spans seven years of continuous study, culminating in the award of the Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree.
Objective: To equip students with the essential knowledge and practical competencies needed for diagnosing, treating, and preventing a wide range of diseases, with a strong focus on patient-centered care.
Global Recognition: Accredited by the Ministry of Health and Medical Education of Iran, ensuring international validity of the degree for clinical practice or advanced postgraduate training.
