Regenerative Medicine Research Center (RMRC)

Pioneering Cellular Repair and Tissue Regeneration for Tomorrow’s Healthcare

Welcome to the Regenerative Medicine Research Center (RMRC) at Shahroud University of Medical Sciences (SHMU). Our center is at the forefront of biomedical science, dedicated to unlocking the body’s innate capacity to heal and regenerate damaged tissues and organs. We merge advanced cell biology, tissue engineering, and molecular science to translate groundbreaking laboratory discoveries into effective clinical therapies.

Our Mission:

The RMRC’s core mission is to develop innovative regenerative solutions for conditions that currently lack curative treatments. We aim to pioneer cell-based therapies, develop functional biomaterials, and uncover the molecular mechanisms that control tissue repair, ultimately restoring health and improving the quality of life for patients.

Key Areas of Focus:

Our interdisciplinary teams concentrate on cutting-edge research across several critical domains:

Stem Cell Biology and Therapy: Investigating the properties of various stem cell populations (e.g., Mesenchymal Stem Cells, Induced Pluripotent Stem Cells) and developing protocols for their safe and effective application in treating degenerative diseases.

Tissue Engineering and Biomaterials: Designing and fabricating biologically active scaffolds and innovative biomaterials that mimic the native tissue environment to support cell growth, differentiation, and functional restoration of damaged tissues (e.g., bone, cartilage, nerve).

Molecular and Developmental Biology: Elucidating the intricate signaling pathways and genetic factors that regulate tissue homeostasis, injury response, and directed differentiation.

Clinical Translation: Working closely with clinical departments to move promising preclinical findings into pilot studies, focusing initially on orthopedic, cardiovascular, and neurological repair.

Opportunities for International Students & Researchers:

The RMRC provides an exceptional environment for international collaborators interested in the high-impact field of regenerative medicine.

Advanced Laboratory Training: Access to state-of-the-art facilities for cell culture, advanced microscopy, biomaterial synthesis, and molecular analysis.

Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Opportunities to work alongside experts from clinical medicine, biomedical engineering, and pharmacology to see research progress from bench to bedside.

Focus on Translation: Participate in projects with a strong translational focus, preparing novel therapies for human trials and contributing directly to future standards of care.

Join the RMRC to contribute to the next generation of medical treatments by harnessing the power of biological repair.
